Ormond library to host guest speakers

The Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St., will host three special programs for adults in September.
Staff from the Barberville Pioneer Settlement will discuss the settlement’s history and what daily life was like for early settlers at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13. The organization is dedicated to preserving artifacts, buildings and local history.
Marcy MacPherson of Still Alive Inside: Dementia Supports and Opportunities will share ways to positively interact with someone living with dementia at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15.
Andressa Ojeda, an aerospace engineering student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, will discuss her goal of becoming an astronaut at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20. Ojeda has trained for suborbital spaceflights, performed microgravity research, and is working on projects involving rocket propulsion. She hopes to become Brazil’s first female astronaut.
