HOAs can learn about Florida friendly landscaping

When in Florida, do as the Floridians do. That means wearing flip-flops all year long, mistaking landfills for mountains, and decorating palm trees for Christmas.

It also means using Florida friendly landscaping to save time, money and water.

Homeowners associations, property managers and homeowners can learn about Florida friendly landscaping during a webinar from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 14. Brittany Council, an extension agent with the University of Florida/Volusia County Extension, will provide an overview of Florida Friendly Landscaping and the county’s fertilizer ordinance. She will also address common landscape concerns and Florida friendly legislation. Afterward, a panel of experts will take questions.

The webinar is approved for two continuing education units for community association managers.

Register at https://tinyurl.com/y88mnuaj. There is a $10 fee. For more information, call Brittany Council-Morton at 386-822-5778.
