Deltona Regional Library plans adult programs

Stay busy this holiday season with free programs at Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave.

November’s programs include:

Adult anime group: 2 p.m. Sundays. Adult anime fans can get together to watch some of the newer and most popular shows.

Lanes in the library: 2:30 p.m. Mondays. Senior adults can play virtual games of bowling on the Nintendo Wii video game system.

Learn about the Timucua: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. Felipe de Paula of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse will share information about the Timucua, native American people who lived in northeast and north central Florida and southeast Georgia.

English conversation hour: 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 1 and 15. People who are learning English as a second language can practice their skills, improve speaking confidence and meet new people.

Puppy hazards and toxins: 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4. A staff member from Pine Ridge Pet Clinic will explain which holiday treats are hazardous and how to keep your furry friends safe.

Concert: 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. Enjoy the musical creations of the Lovengers, a musical duo who elevate, educate and empower through music. This free concert is sponsored by the Friends of Deltona Library.

Crafting at the library: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8. Create holiday cards using the Cricut machine.

Plant clinic and lecture: 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. Bring your sick plants for a free checkup by Master Gardener Howard Jeffries. He will also share tips on caring for trees and houseplants. Participants can exchange plants.

Sit and be fit: 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. Pull up a chair and let staff guide you through a series of relaxing movements using the flow of breath. Bring water and dress comfortably.

Monday morning movies: Sit back and enjoy some good movies:

  • “The Great Escape” (PG): 11 a.m. Nov. 14
  • “La La Land” (PG-13): 11 a.m. Nov. 21
  • “Downton Abbey: A New Era” (PG): 11 a.m. Nov. 28

Book club: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15. Members and guests will share their insights into “Lost Apothecary” by Sarah Penner.

Brain games: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23. Play memory games that can sharpen your mind.
