DeBary Hall plans January events
DeBary Hall Historic Site is planning various events for January that will interest and entertain you. Upcoming events include:
Safe in the woods: 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan 5. Whether you’re going for a short walk in the Florida woods or off on a more extraordinary adventure, it’s essential to be on guard. During part one of a two part series, Master naturalist and frequent hiker Roger Fulton will provide tips and hints for keeping safe while exploring natural Florida during this free presentation.
Story time at DeBary Hall: 9:30 a.m. Fridays, Jan. 6 and 20. Children are invited to Kids Corner, a free story time featuring stories, songs and activities. The program is designed for preschoolers, but children of all ages are welcome.
Welcome to Central Florida; we do landscape differently: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11. Even though Florida’s winter is quite warm, it’s still a good time to start preparing your lawn for cold weather. Join Howard Jeffries, a master gardener with the UF/IFAS Extension Volusia County, for a presentation on how to prepare your landscape for winter.
Get stepping with line dancing lessons: 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 12 and 26. Line dancing is a great way to exercise your mind and body. Join DeBary Hall staff for a fun evening full of learning beginner line dances to various music genres. There is a $3 charge for each class.
All events will take place at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd. Registration is requested for all programs; call 386-668-3840 or email lperez@volusia.org to sign up.
