Annual plant faire
On Saturday, March 18, the 25th annual Volusia County Florida Master Gardener Plant Faire will be held outside at the UF/IFAS Extension Office, 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at noon.
Plants available for purchase include, but are not limited to, those native to Florida, butterfly and hummingbird plants, shrubs and antique roses. Attendees are encouraged to bring a wagon to carry plants while they continue to shop.
Cash or check are the only forms of acceptable payment; debit and credit cards will not be accepted. All proceeds support the UF/IFAS’ educational programming.

Managing citrus at home workshop
Staff from the UF/IFAS will teach residents the basics of home citrus production planting, nutrition, planning and diseases. The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 1, in the auditorium at the UF/IFAS Extension Office, 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand.
The registration fee is $65, which includes a sugar belle citrus tree, a new cultivar from the University of Florida, covering and a home citrus guidebook.
Limited seats are available, and persons interested in attending must register by Friday, March 10. Registration for the workshop may be found at volusiahomecitrus.eventbright.com.

Classes for first-time homebuyers
A course consisting of two virtual classes will be held for persons interested in purchasing a home for the first time. Both classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays, March 17 and 24.
The eight-hour course is approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Registration for the course may be found at homebuyered.eventbrite.com. The cost of the entire course is $10. Interested persons are encouraged to register as soon as possible, as courses often reach capacity.
