Posted On: July 21, 2023
Cultivate your green thumb during a free workshop from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St.
Keynote speaker Dr. Gail Hansen De Chapman, University of Florida’s Extension landscape architect and design specialist, will share landscape design techniques that can enhance the beauty of your Florida landscape. Additionally, participants will learn about acceptance of native plant landscapes and how natives should be arranged to best display their beauty.
This workshop is sponsored by Volusia County's ReGrow the Loop initiative, which was created by the County Council to enhance the 30-mile double loop of roadways through education, awareness and collaboration. Volusia County, UF/IFAS Extension Volusia County and other local organizations are collaborating to eradicate invasive plant species, increase native vegetation, attract more wildlife and pollinators, and bring about sustainability practices to those who care about the Loop.
