Reminder: Volusia County to Accept Applications from Homeowners Needing Repairs or Reimbursement from Hurricane Ian’s Damage
Posted On: November 8, 2023
As part of the ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Ian, Volusia County's Transform386 initiative will begin accepting applications for the Homeowner Recovery program at www.transform386.org at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Homeowners who have sustained damage can apply for aid to cover repair costs, and those who have already undertaken repairs may be eligible for reimbursement for associated expenses.
The Transform386 initiative underscores the County's dedication to supporting its residents through difficult times. By offering both repair assistance and reimbursement options, the initiative aims to relieve some of the financial burdens homeowners are facing due to the storm's impact. Applicants must meet the program's established income guidelines, property ownership requirements, and provide proof Hurricane Ian directly caused the damage.
Residents who have questions while applying can call 386-943-7029 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, and Wednesday, Nov. 15. Additionally, for residents needing in-person help, County staff will assist homeowners with applications from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at select public library locations. A list of the participating libraries may be found on the program's website.
Homeowners intending to apply are encouraged to prepare in advance by visiting www.transform386.org to find detailed information about the program, eligibility requirements, and a list of documents that must be submitted with their application. Additionally, before the application portal is activated, a video tutorial will be published on the website for interested applicants to familiarize themselves with the application.
