Construction Update on Lake Beresford Park

Lake Beresford Park, located at 2100 Fatio Road in DeLand, will have an extended temporary closure, through Nov. 22, to facilitate the construction of a new train track for the SunRail service extension to DeLand. Construction was originally scheduled to be complete by Nov. 10. Volusia County Parks, Recreation and Culture plans to allow public access to the park and trail beginning Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23.

During the closure, the St. Johns River to Sea Loop trail will remain accessible west of the train tracks. Entrances are available at the Blue Springs Avenue Trailhead and near Blue Springs State Park on French Avenue. Trail users will not have access to Lake Beresford Park until the park reopens on Nov. 23.

Residents and visitors looking for a nearby park with a playground, pavilions, and restrooms can visit Spring Hill Park at 903 S. Thompson St., DeLand.
