ECHO Committee to Meet Feb. 16

The Volusia County Environmental, Cultural, Historical, and Outdoor Recreation (ECHO) Advisory Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in the County Council Chambers of the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, 123 W. Indiana Ave., DeLand.
The committee will conduct the meeting as a grant review panel to score the 2024 grant applications. Applications scoring over 80 will be recommended to the Volusia County Council for final approval.
The following ECHO applications, which total $5,364,909 in request funding will be reviewed:
- Seville Village Improvement Association Historic – Historic Seville School Restoration: $214,779
- City of Ormond Beach – Sports Complex Softball Quad Installation of LED Lighting: $456,479
- City of Ormond Beach – Nova Community Park Improvements Fields 2-5: $216,326
- City of Port Orange – City Center Playground Improvements: $200,000
- City of New Smyrna Beach – New Smyrna Beach Skate Park Expansion: $148,825
- City of Edgewater – Hawk’s Park Pickleball Courts & Amenities: $600,000
- City of Debary – Alexander Island Phase I: $2,500,000
- Deltona YMCA – Athletic Fields & Playground: $428,500
- Stetson University – Lake Beresford Shoreline Restoration & Public Access Enhancements at the Sandra Stetson Aquatic Center: $600,000
The committee will also review the updated ECHO Direct County Expenditure (DCE) plan.
