No bull about it, champion bull riding is back at the Ocean Center

Dust off your boots, put on your hat, and hang on tight because champion bull riding is back at the Ocean Center. 8 Seconds to Glory Champion Bull Riding, presented by Keith Knox Silo Pros, takes place Saturday, March 16.

“The thrill and excitement of watching cowboys hang on to a 2,000-pound bull is a visual spectacle like no other,” said event organizer James Pierce. “The combination of the bull's strength and agility with the rider's skill and determination creates a compelling show spectators won’t want to look away from. Eight seconds feels a lot longer when you’re trying to stay atop a bucking bull!”

The action-packed day kicks off with free, family-friendly festivities from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This complimentary event offers children a chance to get up close with rodeo life, including horse riding, photo opportunities, and plenty of fun and games.

Doors reopen at 5 p.m. for the main event, which features over 36 of the most courageous riders facing off against formidable bulls in a test of determination and skill. The stakes are high as riders compete for $30,000 dollars in prize money.

“Between the family festivities and high-adrenaline competition, this event offers something for everyone,” said Ocean Center General Manager Lynn Flanders. “You don’t have to be a cowboy to appreciate the excitement and entertainment of bull riding.”

Tickets are available on Ticketmaster and at the Ocean Center Box Office on event day. A portion of ticket proceeds will go to Bikers Against Child Abuse.
