CFO Ryan Ossowski honored for leadership and accomplishments

Congratulations to Chief Financial Officer Ryan Ossowski, one of 40 recipients of the Daytona Beach News-Journals “40 under 40” awards, which recognizes young professionals who exemplify outstanding leadership and professional accomplishments.

Since joining Volusia County’s leadership team in 2016, Ossowski has set new standards for excellence and played an integral role in controlling costs, driving efficiencies, and maximizing non-tax revenue streams in the Finance Department.

His key accomplishments include:

• Administering the County’s Coronavirus Relief Fund and Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, which together exceed $200 million
• Implementing the County’s participation in the Public Emergency Medical Transport program, which has netted over $7.5 million in additional revenue for the county’s ambulance service over the last four years
• Coordinating the financial aspects of the County’s establishment of the Hospital Directed Payment Local Provider Participation fund, which is expected to provide $30 million in federal resources to local hospitals in the first two years of the program alone
• Overseeing the County’s active FEMA grants, which are expected to provide over $30 million for Hurricanes Ian and Nicole alone
• Implementing the County’s financial services arrangements with the constitutional officers of the Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, and Supervisor of Elections, saving taxpayers over $1 million annually
