Dahlia Park Access Point Renovations to Start Sooner than Expected

Posted On: March 22, 2024

Following progress by the demolition team at Kingfish Avenue and Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park, the renovations to construct new ADA-compliant beach access structures at Dahlia Park will begin earlier than planned. Dahlia Park's access point renovation was initially scheduled for Thursday, April 4; however, it will now begin on Monday, April 1, allowing the community to benefit from these improvements as soon as possible.

While the beach access will be temporarily closed to facilitate these renovations, the park and its amenities will remain open for public use. With Dahlia Park's beach access closing, residents and visitors are encouraged to use alternative beach access points, such as the Dunlawton Beach Ramp or the Demotte Beach Ramp, during the renovation period.

The Volusia Beaches app, which offers real-time updates on beach access and safety advisories, remains a resource for those looking to enjoy the County's beaches. It provides up-to-date information on which access points are open and the locations of staffed lifeguard towers.
