Applications Available for Hurricane Housing Recovery Funds
Posted On: April 15, 2024
Volusia County has received Hurricane Housing Recovery Program funds to assist homeowners impacted by Hurricane Ian or Nicole with owner-occupied rehabilitation. Volusia County Community Assistance is accepting applications from residents who sustained hurricane related damage to their home and still need repairs. Applications are available at https://www.volusia.org/hurricanehousing.
Residents interested in applying must contact the Community Assistance Division at 386-736-5955 or communityassistance@volusia.org to schedule a prescreening appointment. The appointment will be used to determine if the applicant and home meet the initial criteria; it does not guarantee assistance into the program. Eligible applicants will be processed based on funding availability.
An eligible household may receive up to $91,000 in owner-occupied rehabilitation assistance. Assistance is provided as a secured loan, and the terms and conditions of the mortgage will be determined upon eligibility.
For more information on this program and the application process, visit https://www.volusia.org/hurricanehousing. Questions may be directed to Special Projects Coordinator Camila Ramirez at 386-736-5955, ext. 12962, or cramirez@volusia.org.
