May Adventures with Be Floridian Now and Green Volusia

Join Be Floridian Now and Green Volusia as they take two different adventures this May to connect with nature and contribute to our local environment.

DeBary Bayou Paddle with Be Floridian Now:
When: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22
Where:
 Gemini Springs Park, 37 Dirksen Road, DeBary
Requirements
Paddlers must bring their watercraft, PFD, and whistle. Children 12 and up are welcome, accompanied by an adult.

Come learn about the rich history and conservation efforts being made at the DeBary Bayou at Gemini Springs Park. See the importance of the fertilizer ordinance and how it affects the water quality and plant life. Bring your binoculars for bird watching and a picnic lunch to enjoy at this beautiful park.

Campsite Walk and Weed with Green Volusia:
When: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30
Where:
 Lake Ashby Park, 4150 Boy Scout Camp Road, New Smyrna Beach
Requirements
Bring gloves, hand clippers, and binoculars. All ages are welcome.

Gather around the campsite for a chat about invasive plant species and how they can change the ecology and affect native species. Help remove Coral Ardisia from the campsite and take the one-mile boardwalk loop to look for birds and wildlife.
