Two FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers will Open in Volusia County

UPDATE (4 p.m. Nov. 8, 2024): The opening time for the Disaster Recovery Center at the John H. Dickerson Community Center has been adjusted to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, to provide FEMA and its partners with sufficient setup time. Regular hours of operation, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., will resume as planned on subsequent days. 

Two FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers will Open in Volusia County to Aid Residents Impacted by Hurricane Milton (2:50 p.m. Nov. 6, 2024)

FEMA will open Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Volusia County to assist residents affected by Hurricane Milton in accessing available support and applying for assistance on-site. The first DRC will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, through Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the John H. Dickerson Community Center, 308 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Daytona Beach. The second DRC will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, through Wednesday, Nov. 27, at The Center at Deltona, 1640 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.

At the DRCs, residents will receive one-on-one support from FEMA representatives, along with assistance from other disaster support agencies, including the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Red Cross, who will provide additional recovery options.

All Volusia County residents are welcome to visit either location for assistance. As the second DRC event nears conclusion, FEMA will evaluate the demand and usage of the centers to determine if additional DRCs are necessary. The County will announce any decision to establish further centers as needed.
