Disaster Recovery Center in Daytona Beach to Close; New Center in Deltona to Open Nov. 21

The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at the John H. Dickerson Community Center, 308 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Daytona Beach, will close at 7 p.m. today, Nov. 19. Since its opening, more than 900 residents have visited the center to seek assistance with disaster recovery efforts following Hurricane Milton.

A new DRC will open Thursday, Nov. 21, at The Center at Deltona, 1640 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., with hours of operation from 1 to 7 p.m. on the first day to accommodate setup. Regular daily hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. will follow through Wednesday, Nov. 27.

At the recovery centers, residents can meet one-on-one with FEMA representatives and other disaster assistance organizations, including the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Red Cross, to explore recovery options and receive personalized support. All impacted Volusia County residents are encouraged to visit a DRC for assistance if they are unable to apply for benefits virtually.

FEMA has yet to announce whether an additional DRC will be established in the county after the Deltona location closes. Residents can also apply for assistance online at www.disasterassistance.gov, through the FEMA mobile app, or by calling 800-621-3362.
