Volusia County Holiday Closures and Waste Collection Schedule Changes

The holidays are here and that means office closures and schedule updates are happening. There will be no garbage, recycling, bulk waste, or yard waste collection in unincorporated Volusia County on Dec. 25, and Jan. 1, in observance of Christmas and New Year's Day. Residents living within incorporated cities may contact their city government for information about their holiday collection schedules.

The Tomoka Farms Road Landfill will close at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 and will remain closed on Dec. 25. The landfill will reopen at 7 a.m. on Dec. 26 for normal operating hours. For more information on waste collection and landfills, call Volusia County Solid Waste at 386-947-2952.

Volusia County government offices will also be closed on Dec. 25, and Jan.1 for the holidays. They will reopen the following day for standard business hours. All library branches will close at 5 p.m. on Dec.24 and remain closed on Dec. 25. The libraries will also close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31, and all day on Jan. 1. For more information visit www.volusia.org.
