Holiday Fireworks are Prohibited on Volusia County Beaches

Although Florida law allows consumer fireworks on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and July Fourth, fireworks are prohibited on Volusia County beaches unless conducted as part of a permitted professional display.

Unauthorized fireworks on the beach could create safety and environmental concerns. They may pose risks to beachgoers, can spark fires, and can leave debris buried in the sand, creating hazards for people and marine life.

Residents should also be aware that fireworks use is subject to state law as well as county and city ordinances. The public is encouraged to celebrate responsibly by following local regulations and attending permitted, professional fireworks displays when available.
