DeBary Hall Invites Kids to Become ECHO Rangers

Grab your backpack and lace up your sneakers – Volusia County’s ECHO Rangers program is calling young adventurers in grades 1-5 to explore the county’s environmental, cultural, historic, and outdoor treasures, one site at a time.

With more than 50 sites to discover – parks, museums, and historical sites – there’s no shortage of new ground to cover.

Equipped with a “Passport to Adventures” guide, kids will set out to visit at least eight sites and complete specially designed ECHO Rangers activities from August through May. Along the way, families can team up for self-guided adventures anytime – hiking, biking, fishing, and even unleashing their inner artist are all part of the fun.

Parents can sign their young explorers up at DeBary Hall Tuesday through Sunday, or at the Port Orange Regional Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. Every registered Ranger will gear up with a guidebook, badge, lanyard and T-shirt – everything needed to hit the trail in style.

A one-time $20 registration fee unlocks entry to every site on the list – the whole year of adventure for less than the cost of a trip to the movies. ECHO Rangers is coordinated by the staff of DeBary Hall Historic Site. For more information, visit www.volusia.org/echo-rangers or contact Lisa Perez at 386-668-3840 or lperez@volusia.org.
