2025 Accomplishments

2025 Stand Down Accomplishments

  • 55 resources were available to assist veterans with homelessness, housing, employment, service animals, food, haircuts, VA benefits, C&P exams, claim filing, joining service organizations, clothing, household goods, vaccines, chiropractic care, toiletry items, healthcare, legal advice, suicide prevention, addiction recovery, local transportation, Veterans Court, Congressional inquiries, Volusia County Government Offices and free lunches on both days.
  • 668+ veterans attended.
  • 400+ lunches were provided to veterans by Giuseppe’s Pizza and Texas Roadhouse.
  • 300+ meal bags were distributed to veterans.
  • 111 veterans were screened for diabetes.
  • 156 veterans were screened for vision.
  • 67 On-site VA Compensation Exams were completed.
  • 50+ new library cards were issued.
  • 17 Veterans enrolled in medical.
  • 10 bikes were given away to veterans.
  • 21 community volunteers assisted with the set-up/tear down, clean up, signing in of veterans and vendors, directing traffic, helping veterans locate resources and the distribution of lunches, meals, and clothing.
 

2024 Stand Down Event Accomplishments

  • 50+ resources were available to assist veterans with homelessness, housing, employment, service animals, food, haircuts, VA benefits, joining service organizations, clothing, household goods, vaccines, chiropractic care, toiletry items, healthcare, legal advice, suicide prevention, addiction recovery, local transportation, Veterans Court, Congressional inquiries, Volusia County Government Offices and free lunches on both days.
  • 250 veterans attended on Friday.
  • 225 veterans attended on Saturday.
  • 400 meals were provided by Farm Share and given out during the event.
  • 300+ people were fed by Bull & Boar BBQ on Friday.
  • 250+ people were fed by Giuseppe’s Pizza Saturday.
  • 250+ people received beverages provided by the Coca Cola Company.
  • $260 was distributed in gift cards.
  • 121 veterans were assisted by VA Staff and 34 claims were filed.
  • 43 community volunteers  assisted with the set-up/tear down, clean up, signing in of veterans and vendors, directing traffic, helping veterans locate resources and the distribution of lunches, meals, and clothing.
