Our Mission
To provide animal services to the public in the most effective, efficient and courteous means possible. We will provide professional, proactive enforcement of Volusia County Code of Ordinances chapter 14 and the State Statutes pertaining to animals. We will promote responsible pet ownership by individual contact and community outreach programs.

Volusia County Animal Services opened a new animal intake facility to support stray animals and animal control enforcement responses serving unincorporated Volusia County, the City of Oak Hill, and the Town of Pierson.

Municipal animal services
Volusia County Animal Services enforces ordinances and provides services for the unincorporated areas of the county, the City of Oak Hill and the City of Pierson. If you live within city limits, please contact your local animal services office through the Volusia County communication center:

Report Suspicious Animal Behavior
If you have noticed suspicious animal behavior, report it immediately. When submitting your report, please include the following details:
- A general description of the animal.
- The type of behavior that raised your concern.
- The address or general location where the behavior occurred.
If your concern falls outside the jurisdiction of Volusia County Animal Services, we will forward your report to the appropriate agency. An animal control officer may contact you for further details. For emergencies involving an animal that requires immediate attention, please call 911.

Spay and Neuter Services
Volusia County Animal Services is proud to offer low-cost spay and neuter services at the Volusia County Animal Care Clinic (VCACC) for low-income residents. Our state-of-the-art facility provides affordable access to vital sterilization services, helping pet owners comply with Volusia County's mandatory spay and neuter ordinance (Sec. 14-58) while contributing to the reduction of pet overpopulation and homelessness. By offering these essential services, we aim to improve the well-being of pets and foster a healthier, more responsible pet-owning community.
