The Daytona Beach/New Smyrna Beach/DeLand area offers a wide variety of activities and entertainment for folks of all ages. The area is famous for its beaches and motorsports, but the area also offers an abundance of shopping, nightlife, cultural events, sporting activities, the historic St. Johns River, making it the perfect family vacation spot. Additional things to do in the area are available from the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Historic Bandshell. There is nothing like experiencing a concert under the stars and overlooking the beach…at the bandshell. It’s a little slice of history that lives on as bandshell events continue to be popular with residents and visitors alike. Check out one of their free summer concerts.

  • Performing at the Bandshell from 6:15 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, is a Billy Joel tribute band.
    Tony Monaco is the leader and Billy Joel of "Turnstiles". As a young man, Tony became an inspired, lifelong fan of the Piano Man and he used that inspiration to grow as musician. As a result, Billy's style has been forever imprinted on his musical soul, much like that of Ray Charles and many others have been imprinted on that of Billy Joel. This is an incredible all live 7 piece band that has experience playing many large outdoor events and top venues. Expect all of the hits from Piano man to Uptown Girl and everything in between. 

Ocean Walk Shoppes. This family-friendly retail center features familiar names including Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Johnny Rocket's, Sloppy Joe's, Ker's Winghouse, Cold Stone Creamery, Sunglass Hut and Maui Nix Surf Shop.

Daytona Lagoon. This water park features a full day of fun for the entire family – whether you zap your friends in laser tag, challenge your skills at the MEGA Arcade, take a thrilling plunge down the waterslides, or just relax and float around the lazy river. There’s something for everyone. 

Daytona International Speedway.  The World Center of Racing is home to the Daytona 500, Coke Zero 400 and other thrilling events. It’s the world’s first motorsports stadium. If you can’t catch a race, take a tour. Even that will take your breath away. 

ONE DAYTONA. This expansive village across from Daytona International Speedway will soon be home to dozens of shops, restaurants, hotels and so much more. Already, Cobb Luxury Theatres has opened a 10-screen theater and Bass Pro Shops has opened a signature outpost store. 

Tanger Outlets. This retail destination has more than 75 stores and many of the world’s leading brands offered at outlet prices. The mall itself features a user-friendly layout with charming outdoor seating areas, beautiful landscaping and more. 

Downtown. There are numerous cities in Volusia County, each with its own character and charm and all within a 20 to 30 minute drive. Among them are Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach and Ormond Beach. 

DeLand, which offer downtown shopping areas with antique stores, galleries, boutiques, shops, restaurants and cafés. 

Cici & Hyatt Brown Art Museum. This distinctive gallery is reminiscent of Florida “cracker” architecture of yesteryear. Inside you will find the world’s largest collection of original Florida art in a series of galleries all under one roof. Relax and have lunch onsite at the Heavenly Ham café. 

Fishing. Many say the deep-sea fishing in our area is among the finest in the world. If you are in search of bass, the rivers on the west side of the county have a global reputation as the wide-mouth bass fishing capital of the world. 

Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory. Visit this local landmark and pick up some of the best chocolate you will ever taste. And while you are there, take a tour and see these treats being made by confectioners who are masters of their craft. 

Daytona Flea Market. The Flea Market is an experience unto itself. Whether you are looking for a bargain or a hard-to-find item, you won't come away empty handed. But even if you are not shopping, walking the flea market is loads of fun. 

Golf.  If golf is your game, there are more than a dozen courses to test every club in your bag. Don’t have a bag with you? Rental clubs are available at all courses. The layouts are beautiful and challenging. And the green fees are a bargain. 

Peabody Auditorium.  Catch a concert at this historic theater, just a few steps from the Ocean Center. Acts include comedy, concerts, theatrical plays, dance troupes, children’s performances and much more. 

Daytona Tortugas. An evening at historic Jackie Robinson Ballpark is great family fun as the minor league Daytona Tortugas compete in the Florida State League. The team is an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. You’ll enjoy some great baseball and continuous family entertainment throughout the game. 

Bike/hike. Volusia County has some of the most beautiful parks and trails in the Southeast. More than 1 million people visit our parks and trails each year to view nature's beauty and to participate in recreational programs. Our vast offerings include nature and multi-use trails, camping, bird observation towers, fishing, fresh and saltwater boating, historic and archaeological sites, and sports and recreation centers. 

Atlantic Center for the Arts. Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA) is a nonprofit, multidisciplinary artist residency facility in New Smyrna Beach (just south of Daytona Beach). It was founded by Doris Leeper, an internationally known sculptor, painter and visionary environmentalist. In addition to its residency programs, the center offers children’s art camp, artist lectures, exhibitions, community artist-in-residence events, and Images: A Festival for the Arts.
