Possible denials and terminations
- The PHA may deny admission or terminate assistance when a family member violates any of the family obligations under the program.
- The PHA may deny admission or terminate assistance when a member of the family has been evicted from federally assisted housing in the last five years.
- The PHA may deny admission or terminate assistance when a family currently owes rent or other amounts to the PHA or to another PHA in connection with Section 8 or public housing assistance under the 1937 Act.
- The PHA may deny admission or terminate assistance when family breaches a repayment agreement with any housing agency.
- The PHA may deny admission or terminate assistance when a family member has engaged in or threatened abusive or violent behavior toward PHA personnel.
- The PHA may deny admission or terminate assistance when a member of the family engages in, or has engaged in drug or alcohol abuse that interferes with the health, safety or peaceful enjoyment of other residents.
- The PHA may deny admission or terminate assistance when a member of the family commits drug-related criminal activity, or violent criminal activity.
- The PHA may deny admission or terminate assistance when an applicant or participating family intentionally, willingly, and knowingly commits fraud or is involved in any other illegal scheme with the owner.
