Disaster Hub

Volusia County is committed to keeping our community safe before, during, and after disasters. The Disaster Preparedness & Recovery Hub is your central resource for reliable, up-to-date information on how to prepare, stay safe, and recover quickly.

Here, you’ll find guidance on evacuation routes and shelters, permitting requirements for rebuilding, debris removal, FEMA assistance, and more. We’ve also included information tailored for residents with disabilities, as well as tools to understand flood zones and potential risks.

Preparation saves lives. By reviewing evacuation plans, gathering emergency supplies, and knowing where to find accurate updates, residents can reduce risks and make informed choices when time is critical. Our emergency management team works year-round to ensure this information reflects the latest safety recommendations and lessons learned.

Recovery can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. From building permit guidance and insurance claims to community cleanup efforts, Volusia County partners with local, state, and federal agencies to help you rebuild safely and efficiently.

Use the menu on the right or the navigational bar to explore topic-specific resources. Each section—whether permitting, evacuation, recovery, or flood risk—was designed to give you the answers you need when you need them.
