Fraud Alert
The Volusia County Division of Corrections is being made aware that people are making fraudulent phone calls and sending text messages claiming to be bail bondsmen or jail staff requesting money to bond out someone’s loved one. Please be advised that NO ONE from the Volusia County Division of Corrections will ever solicit a bond for anyone. If you receive a call or text from someone claiming to be a jail employee or bondsman attempting to have you transfer money to them via Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, Bitcoin, etc. to pay a bond for someone, it is very likely to be a scam. Please report these instances to local law enforcement and do not send them anything.
