Listed below are conservation lands located within Volusia County. These lands are owned by various entities including the county, the St. Johns River Water Management District, the State of Florida, and the federal government. There are a myriad of habitat types within the county which varies from preserve to preserve depending on the terrain. Volusia County Managed Lands
Volusia County's Land Management division manages conservation lands, including those purchased through the Volusia Forever Program. These conservation lands help protect the waterways, wildlife, and natural resources of Volusia County. As well as, provide recreational opportunities including primitive camping, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and more. St. Johns River Water Management District Lands
The St. Johns River Water Management district is one of five water districts throughout the state and is dedicated to the preservation and management of Florida's water resources. One of the ways this is accomplished is through the acquisition of land. In addition to protecting and maintaining water resources and the integrity of ecological systems these lands provide recreational opportunities.
