Are you interested in getting hands-on experience in your chosen field? Do you want to make a difference in your community? Volusia County’s internship program includes assignments and projects that can help you develop your skills as well as your understanding of local government and public service.
Our interns receive pay and/or college credit. Internships are available for up to 12 weeks during the fall, spring and summer semesters. College credit must be arranged by the student with his/her school.
Volusia County government is similar to a large company with more than 40 different distinct businesses. It interfaces with 16 municipalities in the county. County services include public safety, social services, culture and recreation, planning, zoning, environmental management, mosquito control, public works, utilities, and solid waste.
