Volusia County Utilities
Precautionary Boil Water Notice
Important Public Information

If you’ve been notified of a Precautionary Boil Water Notice in your area, please review the information below. Volusia County Utilities has issued this notice for customers in the affected service area following a temporary drop in water pressure. This precaution is required by the State of Florida to help keep you and your family safe. Our crews are working quickly to restore normal operations and confirm that your water is safe to use.

What You Need To Do
Until this notice is lifted, please take the following precautions:
• Bring all water used for drinking, cooking, food preparation, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute, then allow it to cool.
• Bottled water may be used as an alternative.
• Tap water may be used for bathing, showering, and laundry. Avoid swallowing water while bathing.

What We Are Doing
Our crews are working to restore service and water quality. This includes:
• Restoring system pressure
• Flushing water lines
• Collecting bacteriological samples to ensure the water meets all state safety standards

The precautionary notice will be lifted once laboratory results confirm the water is safe to drink. Customers will be notified immediately when the notice is lifted.

How Long Will This Last?
A boil water notice typically remains in place for 24–48 hours, depending on laboratory results. It cannot be lifted until testing confirms the water meets all state drinking water standards. Updates will be provided as soon as new information becomes available.
