Stephen Danko was a professional artist for more than 25 years before his death in 2008. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in photography from Florida State University. 

Danko taught and gave workshops around the country and worked in major museums and galleries. He collected photography, contemporary art and folk art. He took part in more than 50 group and 10 solo exhibitions and had studios in DeLand, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Germany. His work is included in many public and private collections.
