“I am a formalist with a heightened sense of drama, a maker of visual poems. I collect with my camera the things I want to remember – things I find intriguing, ironic, beautiful or reference a collective memory nuanced with past graces. I often use the pictures, or little pieces of them, to fabricate imagery that speaks a private, introspective language. My hope is that the pictures have enough mystery or charm to transcend the personal and to engage viewers in some kind of way that is meaningful to them.” – Barbara Aleene Edwards
