Frank Ferrante, whose paintings offer soft and subtle landscapes of Central Florida coastlines and waterscapes, graduated from Rutgers University and Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts in New Jersey.
He studied with master painter John Phillip Osborne for over 20 years and uses the DuMond prismatic palette with all of his paintings. Ferrante devoted his efforts learning to capture the flow from light to shadow, atmosphere, weather and time of day in his year-round plein air (painting outdoors) painting sketches. These quick oil paintings form the basis for larger studio paintings. He has been a studio artist at The HUB on Canal, New Smyrna Beach, for over eight years.
Ferrante has been painting for over 50 years and has taught plein air and studio painting for over 25 years at The Art League of Daytona Beach, The Artists Workshop and The HUB on Canal, New Smyrna Beach. He participates in many shows and has won many top awards. His paintings have been displayed in many galleries throughout the United States.
