Walter Hnatysh is an art professor at Florida Atlantic University’s Boca Raton campus. He holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Indiana University and a master of fine arts degree from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University.
His paintings evolve from different sources and processes – observation of objects, qualities of light, complex spaces, the interaction of color and paint surface, and memory. He has shown work in 20 one-person exhibits and more than 100 group shows, including the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul, Turkey. His paintings and drawings are in many private and public collections, including the Huntsville Museum of Art, Alabama; the Everhart Museum, Pennsylvania; Tampa Museum of Art; and the Boca Raton Museum of Art. He has received Individual Artist Grants from Maryland and the South Florida Cultural Consortium.
