Volusia ECHO Advisory Committee
Pursuant to Resolution 2001-70, the ECHO Advisory Committee was established to review and recommend to the County Council applications from not-for-profit organizations, municipalities, and budgeted county departments for grants-in-aid. There are nine members on the committee, each of whom has been nominated by a member of the County Council (the at-large council member and the County Chair nominate two members each) and are approved by a majority vote of the entire council. Committee members shall remain in office only so long as they are qualified registered electors and residents of the county council district. Members of the committee shall be appointed to serve at the pleasure of the County Council for two-year terms expiring on March 31 of odd-numbered years or until their successors are duly appointed and qualified if that be later. For more information, please go to Volusia ECHO site.
This committee was created to review and make recommendations on applications that fund projects that enhance the qualify of life in Volusia County by ensuring the availability of environmental, cultural, historical and outdoor recreational opportunities. The committee will review and/or assess the ECHO needs of the Volusia County community and make recommendations on how the Volusia ECHO Program can best address them.
